Orthodoxy
Chapter 1 of Christianity's Family Tree includes a brief history that Christianity began within Judaism. In the first centuries, follower's of Jesus were known as "Nazarenes", "Christians" or followers of "The Way". Conflicts within the church leads to the division of the Eastern "Greek" and the Western "Latin" side of the Roman Empire. In 1054 Pope Leo X of the Latin speaking West and Patriarch Michael 1 of the Greek speaking East excommunicated each other and all followers.
Orthodoxy claims to be the oldest child in the Christian family and that it preserve the earliest traditions of the Christian Faith. Their official stance is that they are the one true church. Orthodox means right doctrine or the right worship.
An Orthodox church is a building whose very purpose is to transport the worshiper to the heavenly realm and their liturgy is meant to replicate on Earth the kind of worship that is taking place in heaven. Their priest may marry provided they have married before ordination. They are the second largest Christians second to the Roman Catholics.
