No New Posts Christianity Is A Straitjacket

According to Timothy Keller. Any community that did not hold its members accountable for specific beliefs and practices would have no corporate identity and would not really be a community.
Which community has beliefs that lead its members to treat persons in other communities with love and respect - to serve them and meet their needs?

No New Posts How Could A Good God Allow Suffering

Timothy Kelly states. " Just because you can't see or imagine a good reason why God might allow something to happen doesn't mean there can't be one.
Christianity does not provide the reason for each experience of pain, it provides deep resources for actually facing suffering with hope and courage rather than bitterness and despair.

No New Posts There Can't Be Just One True Religion - Chapter 1 - 1 Viewing

This is chapter 1 of the book "The Reason for God"

If you have read through some of my book blog posts, you know that thoughts like this have been in my mind. I was baptized a Catholic, parents married in Catholic church, my brothers and I also went to Catholic school. But we don't go to the church regularly. Our mom also goes to Chinese temples, prayed to our ancestors, followed Feng Shui books and quotes Confucius' teachings. Although our father don't insist on Catholicism only as the right way, he did not let us join the Protestant groups who would come to invite us to their church. When our mom needed altars built, he would build it according to her specification and direction of location. How do you think, growing up as I did, could I be a good Christian ambassador and spread the Good News of Jesus without feeling like I have forsaken my ancestors who have not heard of Jesus?

Board Description
The Reason For God
This book is by Timothy Keller. Not only does he not shy away from the hard questions, he addresses them with the seriousness they deserve. "The Reason for God" is a worthwhile reading for believers who seek a more reasonable basis for Christian Faith, and for nonbelievers who are open to reasoned arguments in favor of God's existence. While the book can and should be read to great benefit by believers, it's a valuable resource for skeptics.

The Reason for God is an interesting book for people who doubt and for those who have strong faith.

Although I don't question the presence of God, I question religion. So come join us as we go deeper into this book.
