Priests are not allowed to be married and women are not ordained to be priest in the Catholic church. But I just recently learned that Kenya and India have Roman Catholic priests that are married. They just can't go up high in the priest hierarchy.
Is the church slowly allowing priest to be married? Or is this an underground movement happening within the church?
Upon further online reading, I would like to share this article from The New York Times January 2012. According to the article we have about 80 married Catholic priests in the United States.
